PPL Syllabus
The syllabus is broadly divided into nineteen exercises, the contents of which are summarised below:
1: Familiarisation with the aeroplane
1E: Emergency drills
2: Preparation for and action after flight
3: Air experience
4: Effects of controls
5: Taxying
5E: Emergencies (By this stage you should have obtained a JAA Class II medical)
6: Straight and level
7: Climbing
8: Descending
9: Turning
10A: Slow flight
10B: Stalling
11: Spin avoidance (By now you should have studied for and passed your Air Law exam)
12: Take-off and climb to downwind position
13: Circuit, approach and landing
12/13E: Emergencies (By now you need to have passed the Navigation and Meteorology exams)
14: First solo (You should also have obtained your RT licence prior to first solo. We recommend the RT course when you have completed 8 to 10 hours flight instruction).
15: Advanced turning
16: Forced landing without power
17: Precautionary landing
18A: Navigation
19: Basic instrument flight
After that it's consolidation and the Skills Test - congratulations, you are a pilot!
